Spacebar Clicker Game Guide: Every Device Explained
Every run of the Spacebar Clicker game follows the same path. You start with one phone and a space bar, and you end up running an office full of PCs, servers and mining rigs that earn more in a second than you made in your first hour. What you buy along the way, and when, decides how fast you get there.
This guide covers all five devices in Spacebar Clicker: what each one costs, what it’s good at, how to unlock the later ones and how to decide which to buy next. Every number comes straight from the current version of the game.
The five devices at a glance
| Device | Base price | Production cycle | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phone | $500 | 7 seconds | Open from the start (your first one is free) |
| Laptop | $4,000 | 10 seconds | Open from the start |
| PC | $23,000 | 12 seconds | Open from the start |
| Server | $23,000,000 | 18 seconds | Buy 3 PCs |
| Miner | $1,275,000,000 | 26 seconds | Buy 3 servers, then a $355M Mining license |
A few rules apply to every device:
- Every device earns two ways. Its per-click income is added to every press of the space bar, and its automatic income is paid out once per production cycle, whether you’re playing or not.
- Each copy costs more. Every extra device of the same type costs 1.5 times as much as the one before it. Your second phone is $750, your third $1,125, and so on.
- Devices need slots. Each room is a 3 by 3 grid. In your first room, slots cost $1,000, $35,000 or $220,000 depending on the row.
- Parts are where the money is. Buying a device gets you level 1. Every part inside it can be upgraded, and each level costs 27% more than the last while adding 10% more than the last.
A late-game office with every device type. The number at the top of each tile is what it adds per click, the bottom one is its automatic income.
Phone: where every run starts
Every new game hands you a free phone. Its starting level adds $1 to every press of the space bar, which is why your first clicks earn exactly $1.
The phone is the simplest device in the game. It has just two parts, plus an operating system:
- Phone (up to level 25): adds click and automatic income.
- Cooler (up to level 20): adds automatic income and can also speed up the production cycle.
- OS (up to level 20).
A phone’s upgrades. Each level asks whether its bonus goes into clicks or into automatic income.
When to buy more: early. Phones are cheap, their parts are cheap, and a couple of well-upgraded phones carry you through the first stretch of the game. Because the phone is also the first part you can max out, it’s usually the first thing you’ll Enhance.
Laptop: the clicking machine
At $4,000, the laptop is your first real step up. Its starting level adds $5 per click, five times what your free phone gave you.
Laptops are built for active players. Their Display part only adds click income, and the device as a whole leans toward clicks. If you like to play with fast bursts on the speed meter, laptops are your best friend.
Parts: Laptop (level 35), Display (35), Mouse (30), Keyboard (30), plus an OS (25).
A laptop’s parts. The Display only ever adds to your clicks.
When to buy more: when clicking is still a big part of your income. Two laptops with a few dozen levels each make every burst of clicking feel much stronger.
PC: the all-rounder
The PC costs $23,000 and is where automatic income starts to take over. Unlike the phone and laptop, its free starting level goes into automatic income ($24 per cycle), so a fresh PC starts earning on its own straight away.
The PC also has by far the most parts of the early devices, ten in total:
- Case, Motherboard, CPU, GPU, Storage, RAM, Power Supply, Monitor, Mouse and Keyboard.
- Most go up to level 40-50, and the Power Supply can also speed up the cycle.
- An OS goes up to level 45.
A PC’s upgrades. With ten parts to level, there’s always something cheap to buy.
All those parts make the PC the best device for steady progress: there’s almost always a cheap level somewhere that improves your income a little. PCs also count toward two achievement tracks, PC Builder (number of PCs owned) and Full Build (fully upgraded PCs).
When to buy more: you need three PCs to unlock servers, so getting to three is your first big goal of the midgame.
Server: unlocked with three PCs
Servers cost $23 million and stay locked until you’ve bought three PCs. Their starting level adds $42 of automatic income per cycle, and every one of their eight parts goes up to level 50:
- Server Chassis, Motherboard, CPU, ECC RAM, Storage Array, Redundant PSU, Network Card and RAID Controller.
- The Redundant PSU can also speed up the production cycle.
- The Server OS goes to level 50 as well.
A server’s upgrades. Every part goes up to level 50.
Servers are where the numbers get big. A single well-upgraded server can out-earn your entire early office, which is why the jump from PCs to servers is one of the most satisfying moments in the game.
When to buy more: three servers unlock the next tier, the Miner.
Miner: the newest device
The Miner arrived in version 0.23 and plays differently from everything before it. It’s also the biggest investment in the game:
- Buy three servers to see the Miner in the shop.
- Buy the Mining license for $355 million.
- Buy the Miner itself for $1.275 billion.
A Miner has four regular parts: Rig Frame, Mining Board, Mining PSU and Rig Cooling, all going to level 50, plus a Mining OS. Its starting level adds $320 of automatic income per cycle. What makes it special is the rig: a set of card slots that you fill with either GPUs or CPUs.
A GPU Miner with 5 of 8 cards. The next slot opens when the Rig Frame reaches level 30.
Here’s how the rig works:
- Slots open as you level the Rig Frame. The frame’s level decides how many cards fit.
- Your first card picks the rig type. Install a GPU and the whole rig is a GPU rig. You can only switch after selling every card.
- Every card is its own part with 50 levels, so a full rig has a lot to upgrade.
- Rigs can crit. Each production cycle has a chance to pay out extra.
- Cards sync. Every 10 levels that your weakest card reaches adds a bonus to every card’s income, multiplied by the number of active cards. Keeping cards level with each other pays off.
GPU or CPU? The two rigs trade size for luck:
| Rig | Card slots | Opens at Rig Frame level | Crit chance | Crit payout | Sync per card |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GPU | 8 | 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 | 3% | x1.5 | +2% |
| CPU | 12 | 1, 3, 6, 10, 14, 18, 22, 27, 32, 38, 44, 50 | 8% | x2 | +1% |
A GPU card ($5.1 million) starts much stronger on automatic income than a CPU card ($3.49 million), and a GPU rig’s sync bonus is twice as big per card. A CPU rig holds more cards, opens them faster and crits more often and harder. As a rough rule: GPU for fewer, stronger cards, CPU for more cards and more luck.
Which device should you buy next?
Here’s a simple order that works for most players:
- Level your free phone and buy a second one. Put early levels into clicks so your bursts grow.
- Buy a laptop as soon as you can afford $4,000. It’s the biggest early boost to your clicks.
- Start on PCs for automatic income, and fill out their cheapest parts first.
- Get to three PCs to unlock servers, then save for your first $23M server.
- Get to three servers, buy the Mining license and work toward your first Miner.
Along the way, fill the slots in your first room before buying new rooms. There are nine rooms in total, each its own 3 by 3 grid, with the second costing $55 million and the most expensive $5 trillion. A new room is a big purchase, while an empty slot in a room you already own is much cheaper.
How to decide between devices and upgrades
When you have money to spend, you’ll usually be choosing between a new device, a new slot or a level on a part you already own. A few tips:
- Compare what each option adds, not what it costs. A cheap level that adds a little can beat an expensive device that adds a lot.
- Use the bulk buy toggle. The x1 button next to Sell switches between buying 1, 5, 10 or the maximum number of levels you can afford in one press.
- Watch the speed bonus. Coolers and power supplies can shorten a device’s cycle. A faster cycle makes all of that device’s automatic income come in sooner.
- Don’t sell too quickly. Selling a device gives back 70% of what you paid for it and its upgrades, but money spent on Enhance attempts is never refunded.

Quick answers
What’s the best device in the Spacebar Clicker game? The Miner earns the most, but it’s also by far the most expensive. For most of the game, the best device is the one whose next upgrade gives you the most income for your money.
How do you unlock servers? Buy three PCs. Servers then appear in the New Device menu for $23 million.
How do you unlock the Miner? Buy three servers, then the Mining license for $355 million. After that the Miner costs $1.275 billion.
Should I choose a GPU or CPU rig? GPU rigs have fewer but stronger cards and a bigger sync bonus. CPU rigs hold more cards and crit more often. Both work, so pick the style you prefer.
How many rooms can you have? Nine, each with its own 3 by 3 grid of slots.
Build your office
The best way to learn the devices is to grow an office yourself. Open Spacebar Clicker, start pressing the space bar with your free phone and see how long it takes you to unlock your first server. If you’re new to the genre, our beginner’s guide to idle clicker games explains the basics first.
